This archive of record album and CD cover art presents some of the more historically interesting items I've collected over the years. I've always been intriqued by the odd, the unusual, rare & offbeat - though there is more mainstream material to be found here as well.

The album cover is a lost art - CD covers just don't have the space to create the impressive effect a great 12" cover had, though many artists are doing the best they can given the limitations of the CD. FRONT COVER: Laurie Anderson - Big Science
COMMENTS: Performance artist Laurie Anderson brought high concept art to rock music. A fantastically talented and innovative performer, Anderson is also gifted with the soul of a poet combined with a skewed, yet compassionate view of humanity.
FRONT COVER: Steve Miller Band - Children of the Future
COMMENTS: This early Steve Miller album is a great example of the psychedelic sixties sound. People today tend to forget Miller's earlier work and focus on his later hit style in songs like "The Joker" and "Fly Like an Eagle," but Miller's early work is more interesting and soulful.
FRONT COVER, DETAIL: Moog Cookbook - Ye Olde Space Band
COMMENTS: Obviously inspired by electronic pioneers Perrey and Kingsley, Moog Cookbook took up the reigns of breathing new life into both popular and electronic music by interpreting rock hits in their own electronically twisted, good-natured style that still cooked.
